Fuse SPORT joins forces with football legend Bryan Robson

Manchester agency working with ‘Captain Marvel’ to promote grass-roots football

Sports marketing agency Fuse SPORT has announced an exciting new partnership with footballing legend and Sheffield United manager Bryan Robson OBE.

The Manchester-based agency is working with ‘Captain Marvel’ to help maximise the sponsorship potential of a groundbreaking football scheme that he is pioneering to encourage grass-roots football development in England.

Alongside Lancastrian businessman Chris Lloyd, Robson has set up a company - Robson Lloyd - with the aim of establishing a network of community football academies across the UK in line with current FA guidelines.  Plans are afoot for these academies to be incorporated into a select number of Non-League football clubs as part of a major relocation and redevelopment scheme which will revitalise both the club and its locality.

The community academies will be managed by UEFA ‘A’ licensed football coaches and will also offer educational facilities which will aim to build children’s awareness of their health through diet, sport and lifestyle teaching. Robson Lloyd are currently masterminding the redevelopment of their flagship club - West Lancashire team Burscough FC – which by the end of 2008 will boast a new £4.3m stadium as well as its own community academy and state-of-the-art facilities.

Commented Bryan Robson: “We’ve enlisted the expert help of Fuse SPORT to help us identify potential sponsors who may wish to endorse a truly innovative venture which will benefit local communities as well as leaving a lasting football legacy for generations of kids.”

Added Fuse SPORT director Ben Haworth: “Robson Lloyd are aiming to get right to the heart of grass roots football in this country and I think their concept will really appeal to brands who are looking to associate themselves with such a worthy and high-profile initiative.”
