BRYAN ROBSON OBEAs captain of England on 65 occasions, Bryan Robson knows what it is like to lead from the front. Bryan represented his country in three World Cups and was widely regarded as one of the most complete midfield players of the modern era. He is the only player to have led a team to three FA Cup triumphs, captaining Manchester United to victory in 1983, 85 and 90. He also skippered United to Premiership titles in 1993 and 94 before moving into management with Middlesbrough, eventually taking over at West Bromwich Albion where he had started his playing career.
CHRIS LLOYDKnows the challenges faced by running both a business and a football club. As chairman of non-League side Burscough for more than three years, Chris understands the economics associated with operating a sports club. A successful businessman, he owns a property management and investment company dealing in commercial property comprising offices, business parks and retail.
LEN CANTELLOA key member of the successful West Bromwich Albion team of the 1970s when he struck up a friendship with team mate Bryan Robson that is still as strong as ever. Len went on to play for Bolton Wanderers and can literally claim to have an interest in grass roots football thanks to his business links. It was in the 1990s, in Canada where he was coaching, that Len came across ‘field turf’ which is more like grass than astro turf because of its longer fibres. A dozen Premiership clubs now have training pitches made of the material and its use extends all over the world.
NICK KILLEENNick is a chartered surveyor with more than 25 years of experience in the property and construction industry. He has been commissioned to project manage various developments, comprising the leisure, retail, office and industrial sectors nationwide, ranging from £250,000 to £12 million in value. This included a major role with the construction and facilities management of a new shopping centre in Lancaster worth £12 million. He joined Robson Lloyd in February 2007 as Project Director and has a keen interest in grass roots sport through his three children. Nick was a partner in chartered surveyors Strutt and Parker before joining Robson Lloyd.
RON WOOD Ron is the former retail entrepreneur who built up the largely successful Birthdays greeting card shop chain before selling out to the institutional investors in the late 1990¹s. He has since been involved in a number of wide ranging business ventures, of which commercial property development has been his main focus of attention in recent years. Although Ron is an avid Manchester United fan, he has nevertheless always found time to give support to local football teams of all levels.
